The most basic service an OBGYN offers to patients is the PAP smear.

This is a screening technique meant to diagnose early cervical changes due to persistent viral infections with the HPV virus. The quality of this investigation depends on the patient, dedication of the service provider, organisation of the service and the laboratory which interprets the slide taken and prepared by the doctor.

The return of the patient for the test, the quality of the collection, transport and interpretation of the slide, the recall system and the further management of patient with findings assures the success of early detection and prompt management.

I am qualified in further investigating cervical pathology with colposcopy.

Our pathologists are well qualified to interpret biopsies taken during colposcopic examinations, which I perform with my own equipment in my rooms.

When needed, the full management of cervical lesions is promptly undertaken by myself at Sunninghill Hospital, where our surgical theater has all the necessary equipment for the most sophisticated procedures.

Advanced cases are referred to specialized  oncology units.
